New Mexico Angels

Investor Meetings/Workshops

NMA hosts regular meetings for investors.

Our meetings are meant to be informal, networking meetings, yet business will be done when the time has come.  We hope to make a tremendous influence upon the entrepreneurial business community of New Mexico for many years to come.  Not only do we enjoy ourselves and make a profit from our investments, but the underlying business infrastructure of New Mexico is strengthened by our success.  This is the ultimate of “doing well by doing good.”

Our presentation format is to have company presentations in either a dinner setting, with time up front for informal or formal discussions, sharing a story or two, having a drink with friends, commiserating about lost opportunities or bad investments, bragging about good investments and “ponies beneath the pile,” and just good old-fashioned camaraderie, or in a breakfast format, where we will hear from one or two companies, and then off to work by 8:30 AM.

We also put on Workshops and Seminars that are either half-day or full-day sessions, and are generally created by the Kauffman Foundation.  Our most recent workshop, entitled “Valuation and Portfolio Analysis” which was delivered on May 9, 2007 drew rave reviews.  Lots of good information!

We have a mix of business owners, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, techno-people, and people just looking for a good investment opportunity.  Hopefully, we all fall into the latter category.

For the ease of our members, we have split presentations, one in Albuquerque and one in Santa Fe (except for our Annual Meeting).  The tentative schedule for 2008 is listed below.

July 24- Lunch Meeting
August 21 - Breakfast Meeting
September 25 - Breakfast Meeting
October 22 - 4th Quarter - Albuquerque
October 23 - 4th Quarter - Santa Fe
November 20 - Breakfast Meeting
